Raj’s is agitating against toll collection on BOT roads in Mumbai, while it is spreading around the total Maharashtra state. It was long awaited, should spread in nation because of each state govt. is charging 5% to 30%VAT or sales tax, while central govt is charging 32%custom& excise, 2% education cess, 2%road cess, 2% other cess on petrol & diesel means central govt. is imposing 38% taxes.
2nd coin cide after charging such types of high taxation both the states ¢ral govt. are claiming for subsidies on petrol, diesel, LPG, CNG, fuel, but unable to provide free good & smooth roads. While these roads are 1st public property, 2nd basic needs of development of nation & its public, 3rd all the states & central govt. are charging heavy taxes on on petrol, diesel, CNG from vehicle owners for running their vehicle on roads, 4th most of govt are charging road tax7% on cost of vehicles, including 12.5% VAT of state govt. from dealers of vehicles, and more than 50% customs & excise of central from manufacturer, but after all these unable to provide free, good & smooth roads to vehicles owners by state & central govt. owned national & state highways.
On other side, all the govt. i.e., all states & central govt. are not welfare oriented democratic. Now these are converted in to dacoitocratic public snatching Govt.. Most of BOT contractors are from relatives of MP’s, MLA’s politicians, bureaucrats, big business, capitalists etc., paying monthly commission, bribes to all state road development engineers, to CMD, and the same with National Highways Authority of India. So most of BOT contractors are unable to fulfill standards of Indian Road Congress or International Roads Congress, and after getting Completion Certificate, these dirty vultures of BOT contractors least bothers for proper maintenance of roads, while in case of collection of toll, there is no limit, no law, no govt. check for asking money with vehicle owners, if they argues, these dirty dacoits are frequently using gundogs for beating to drivers.
So it is required nation wide agitation against toll collection on roads.
